#2 Modify the minibus route 96 to enhance the transportation between Tsuen Wan West and our district

The motion: Shall minibus route 96 operate as a circular route to enhance the transportation between Tsuen Wan West and our district?

Content

In order to let residents travel back to our district from Tsuen Wan West Station conveniently, based on the previous survey results and research, this vote explores whether minibus route 96 should operate as a circular route. In this setting, every trip shall observe Tsuen Wan West. Passengers who board there would have no need to alight at Hoi Pa Street but could return directly to Sham Tseng Tsing Lung Tau.

Meanwhile, because the demand for the return journey from Tsuen Wan West Station is expected to increase in the evening, in order not to affect the ease of boarding at Hoi Pa Street at night, 96 may adopt two routes in the day and night: Observe TWW Station first during the day and observe Hoi Pa Street first at night. This is to maintain reasonable waiting time and ease of boarding on both locations.

Just a few days after posted, there were about 100 comments made to the post, and a large number of residents inboxing and whatsapping us. As per the preliminary findings and research, under the current framework, it occurs that modifying the route of 96 might be the win-win solution.
